COMM-2570

Typography studies the artform of letters in time and space. We will focus on printed typography, addressing issues of clarity, legibility and production, while exploring semiotics and expression in the written word. Students will become familiar with the historical framework surrounding typographic production, its role in artistic and commercial practice, as well as “traditional” typographic terms and standards. Students enrolled in this class will be expected to have a strong working knowledge of the following software programs: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator.
